To start with let’s see what the Dealer Chip means. After each hand, the Dealer chip is moving clockwise around the table, signifying every player’s position. As it is often referred to, you should always check and pay good attention on who is “on the button” since Texas Hold’em is a fixed position game. Usually to determine, who will be “on the button” in the first round, every player is dealt a card, and the player having the highest ranking card will have the privilege to start as the dealer.

Before the game starts the blinds are being used. These blinds, blind bets are placed in the pot by players without knowing their cards, before any cards have been dealt. The player on the immediate left of the dealer puts in the small blind, which usually equals to half of the big blind. The big blind is the player sitting on the immediate left of the small blind, who has to put in the sum equal to the small bet of the limit played. For example, if you are playing 3$/6$ limit hold’em than the big blind will be 3$.

The first round begins after the blinds have been placed in and the dealer deals the “hole cards” to each player, which means two cards face down. The first player who will be acting is the one on the left of the big blind, who can bet, fold or call the amount of the big blind. Than the game goes on to every player, who can choose to bet, fold or raise the current bet.
After all betting, raising and folds ends the dealer deals three cards face up, which is called the “flop”. These are community cards that every player can freely use to improve their hands. After the flop another round of betting begins. In the next round the player deals one card faced up, the “turn”, which is also a community card. Then, another round of betting, raising or flop starts.
